Update Sunday 11/21/2010

Feeling fine with a good outlook and hardly any pain.

We made it to the Doctor's visit on Tuesday, which actually takes place in what is called a Wound Center, a very nice  modern facility with all the necessary tools and machinery and supplies.
Nurses aide took off the outer bandage and found me a blanket and a pillow. Nurse, RN came in a removed the final bandages and said it looked great. She then told me that my insurance did not approve human skin transplant but rather the pig skin and filled me in with what the Doctor was going to do and what I could expect, He finally came in and apologized for the wait. I did not tell him that I had dozed off. He had the nurse clean in and around the wound and explained that this time the bandage would stay on for a week. That after five weeks of daily changing. Said it looked good and had shrunk from 10 to 7 mm. He applied the pig skin after cutting it to shape and wished me luck and left the room Must have been a busy day for him.
Nurse completed the bandaging and wrap the top layer with an ace bandage that has one sort of adhesive on it so it hold very nice and tight. Was in the office for an hour and by now was starving to death.
Beat it home and had bacon and eggs.

Still looking forward to 1/1/11 and my round of golf. Hope the sun shines.
Let me wish you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVING ! Enjoy the day and company.

We will be celebrating with 9 adults and 4 children and at least two dogs.

This is Bill's son, with a sad message. My Dad passed away after a sudden illness on Nov 28. He loved his email friends. Thanks for being such a good friend to him.

  14. Bill, rest in peace and know that you were so loved by your on-line friends. We will miss you. But I know for certain, that here, in our somewhat strange, but really cool cyber neighborhood, every year someone will remember your anniversary and offer up a word or two.

  19. Bill, I'm very sad at your passing, and you'll be sorely missed by so many. Yet I'm so glad you knew the Lord and you're in Heaven. I know you're looking down on your Jland and twitter family and watching over us.

Bill, you were and are such a stellar man. You always spoke the truth and weren't afraid of what others thought. You helped others and were kind. And you were a good witness for the Lord.

I will miss your words in jland and on twitter. But I'm looking forward to meeting you one day again in Heaven, where there is no more pain, tears and suffering, and where Jesus will be the Light of the City.
